“Micro devices make big industry”; “small platform makes big stage”
As the cutting-edge technology of modern sci-tech, sensors have become an important support to promote the deep integration of the Internet, big data, AI and the real economy, becoming a basic industry to support IoE and All Intelligent.
Three sessions of WSS have been held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, thus promoting the in-depth cooperation between government, industry, university, research and application, encouraging the innovation elements to the Chinese mainland, grassroots and enterprises, and playing a positive role in breaking through key core technologies in the sensor field and filling the gaps in the industrial chain. It has become a stage and window for China to display the development of the sensor industry.
In recent years, the CPC Henan Provincial Committee and Henan Provincial Government have attached great importance to the development of the intelligent sensor industry, listing it as one of the ten emerging industries in the province, introducing the upgrading plan for the modernization of the industrial chain, establishing the mechanism of promoting “double-head system”, building the Industrial Research Institute and the pilot test base, cultivating the innovation center of the intelligent sensor manufacturing industry in Henan Province, creating a pilot test platform for R&D of MEMS, establishing industrial chain alliance, innovation alliance, industry association and other organizations, and fully promoting the high-quality development of the intelligent sensor industry. At present, the sensor industry in Henan Province has the market size of nearly 33 billion CNY, forming a development pattern of “one valley and six parks”.
As the host of the event, Zhengzhou, relying on the success of the past three sessions of WSS, has shown that the intelligent sensor industry continues to grow in scale and has stronger development momentum. It has cultivated Chinese leading enterprises represented by Hanwei Technology, and attracted a large number of backbone enterprises with strong competitiveness such as GLTech, Suntront Tech, CETC, Relations Instruments, Anran I&C Technology, SIWEI Automation and Splendor Science & Technology, etc. As a result, it has cultivated a sensor industry chain covering gas, meteorology, agriculture, power grid, environmental monitoring, rail transit and other fields.
In 2021, the scale of sensor core and related industries in Zhengzhou reach 30 billion CNY, having more than 6,000 enterprises along the industrial chain. Among them, there were 3,011 sensor-related enterprises in Zhengzhou High Tech Zone, and four public companies specialized in smart sensors. The industrial scale grew from five billion CNY to 15 billion CNY, with an average annual growth of 45%. In the ranking of China’s Top Ten Smart Sensor Parks in 2022, Zhengzhou High Tech Zone ranks No. 4 in China and No. 1 in Central China.
